Piano Bank song, 06
The Sai Newsletter for Sai Graduates is now on the air
Hello and a Lovely Sai Ram to each of you.
Piano Bank 47
This past week-end was memorial day here in the United States of America. On television we had many programs about the military, our fighting forces, the wars this country has been in engaged in and the bravery of our soldiers.
The music and stories on television were of course very patriotic and stirring. And so it made me feel sad because at this stage of my life I am unable to be involved with anything which means leaving my apartment.. If I had a car I would be able to visit Bay Pines Veterans Hospital and read to the blind or write letters for those who can't.
But alas, I am unable to help in any way except to send my love and prayers for peace.
SongBank 07 When the Saints
When the saints, go marching in
Yes, when the saints go marching in
Oh Lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in
And when I watch our soldiers march
Yes when I watch them marching by
I am proud to be in this country
And I know each one is Sai
I listened to the memorial day concerts and wept over the war stories which told about the returning baby faced kids some of whom are to crippled now to ever work again or ever play hard with their little ones. I watched and vowed to honor these boys while realizing THAT NO ONE IS REALLY TAKING CARE. MANY HAVE SEVERE PSYCHIATRIC PROBLEMS scared and traumatized from their EXPERIENCES AND YET IT TAKES FOUR YEARS FOR THEM TO EVEN GET AN APPOINTMENT WITH A GOVENMENT SHRINK
We all know that they have been provided with so little help when they have given their entire lives FOR the country.
To begin with, I am sorry that we are at war. I am so sorry our boys do not get what they need for rehabilitation, I am so sorry our country couldn't have chosen the path of peace instead of war to solve these problems. After 9-11 we seem to have leaped at the chance to involve ourselves in a full scale war in foreign countries, against a foreign culture and on foreign soil in order to avenge the wrong done to us. I pray that the killing of Osama Bin Laden will help to ease us out those foreign countries. And bring our soldiers home to enjoy living in this place where freedom reigns
Yes, I pray to Swami that He will bring peace to our land so that we can heal at last.

Shower your grace, Lord Sai
We spent this memorial Day mourning the fallen warriors in flag drapted coffins. Feeling deep compassion for the weeping widows and small children staring into the cameras. The saddest stories, however, concern not those in the coffins but the disabled and crippled young men who have come home as amputees and with brain injuries. They had left school to serve in the armed forces and returned unable to even care for themselves. These stories dig deeply into our hearts and make us wonder how we can help them ever as Swami tells us to do. How can we do that, Swami? How can we share their pain. Dear Lord, let us help in some way, but how?
I was surprised when my intuition told me to chant the Sai Rudram for these warriors, Swami indicated that I should shower them with my love and compassion and also chant the Rudram. I offer now all my prayers and love to Sai Rudram.
