She just barked for the first time since she came. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzit's 5 in the morning and I sat down at my computer. I'm afraid she wants my constant attention. This morning I tried to meditate and she tried to get her head under my useless turned up hand, Maybe she's right, Maybe its better to be useful and love her. So I pet her.
I saw an ad in the paper for a female Pug three years old, 200 dollars so I called. The man said they were from a place about a hundred miles away but for some reason or other he had her right here in St.. Pete and could bring her right over, He did and with a few words...he's Latino. He left her here. He said that in the three years since she was born that he owned her she gave him seven litters of pups. He was getting rid of her because he wanted a smaller breed because they cost like a thousand dollars instead of two hundred. So he got rid of this three year old breed dog.
SHE NEVER SAID A WORD WHEN HE LEFT, ONLY TRIED TO FOLLOW HIM. BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY
She's really filthy. She lived outside, the man said. I'll try to bath her today/ And the fleas. She scratched all night. When I first brought her up in the elevator she was so nervous and tried to avoid me. So I sat down in the floor and explained that I was her mother and would love her always. No eye contact. I kept patting and scratching behind her ears. Fleas responded. I think the poor little thing had been totally ignored all her life except when having puppies for the man. She looked used and I tried to explain that she was now retired. But I think she's use to playing with other Pug dogs ourside in the cool air. This somewhat hot little apartment is going to take getting used to. I know, I am still going through that.
Oh Swami, she just barked again. This is her first morning and she's wondering where the man is...and her brothers and sisters, and her babies. Never mind the babies....they must have taken at least twenty babies away from her. What a terrible life she's had,,,no attention just pregnant all the time and they they took her babies. But is this really going to be any better? Just one old lady who sits at the computer and won't always pet her like she said she would.
Meditation was something else. If I tried to put my hands down ahe tried to force them on her head. If I sat cross legged she tried to get into my lap. She must weigh 50 pounds...a big Pug. And she was scratching all the time. I finally gave up meditating as I had given up on sleeping a few hours earlier, I tried to lie still so she wouldn't want my attention. I placed a step table next to the bed so she could learn to get up and down by herself. Bed must be for feet off the floor. Big .antirque pineapple bed. She learned quickly to jump off.
She's very nervous sort like a caged animal/ Up and down and all around all night. It was a little hard to deal with her and the framed picture of Swami I always sleep with. My little statue of the dolls I adore, Ganesha, Bala Devi, Sathyanarayana Raju...they already lost their place on my bed. I have a foot long stuffed mouse for Ganesha's vehicle Mousika and I was afraid Pugle might try to eat him, Oh Lord, the blog is almost over and I haven't gotten to the spiritual part yet.
BEAR IN MIND THAT HER LITTLE BODY HAS CREATED SEVEN LITtERS OF PUPS. NOW THAT IS SHAKTHI, SHE IS THE COSMIC MOTHER. When I was trying to meditate she placed her rear END ON MY HAND. I WAS TRYING TO CONSENTRATE ON MY KUNDLINI SHAKTHI AND SUDDENLY I TRALIZED THAT IT WAS HER SHAKTHI I WAS FEELING. //////////////THE LITTLE DOG WAS LYING ON HER SIDE WITH HER EYES CLOSED BUT THERE WAS A TREMBLE COMING FROM HER BODY THAT HAD MORE SHAKTHI THAN I HAD. No wonder she is so nervous with the fleas in her ears and wonderful shakthi starting from her ,,,her uterus? I don't know but it was powerful And I was remembering all the stories I've been reading about these healing therapy dogs visiting these old folks homes. Now I see why, This little dog, my little Pugel, is full of the Universe of the Divine Mother of the Universe.
WELL, I CAN'T MAKE A DIVINE ICON OUT OF HER BUT I PLAN TO GIVE HER A LOT OF LOVE TO MAKE UP FOR HER ROTTON LIFE SO FAR. Actually as I told her..she lucked out by coming here to me because now SHE BELONGS TO SWAMI JUST AS I DO.
You need to get something for those fleas! Dogs are a lot of work, but a lot of love too. Maybe Vidya can share some advice, she has a little doggie too. But I don't understand why you paid so much for a pure breed, they tend towards health problems. Why not a free one rescued from a shelter? Anyway, enjoy your new companion!
